This week we discover Club de Golf del RACE, an 18-hole, par-72 course in San Sebastián de los Reyes. History, nature and strategy come together on a course that invites you to enjoy the round and use every club in the bag.

1. A course with history and character

Designed by Javier Arana and opened in 1967, RACE is one of Madrid's golf classics and has hosted events such as the Spanish Open.

It keeps the charm of traditional courses, with a layout that has accompanied generations of golfers. A chance to enjoy golf at a club with more than half a century of history.

2. Eighteen holes that never get boring

Its four par 3s, ten par 4s and four par 5s offer a varied, balanced round. There are chances to attack, but also holes where it pays to play safe.

The par 3s test your accuracy, while the long holes demand both distance and good placement. A course where it always pays to think about the next shot.

3. Wide fairways, demanding greens

The fairways give you room from the tee, but trees, slopes and bunkers mean not every position is equally good.

The large, well-protected greens add the final challenge: reaching the green matters; leaving the ball in the right spot makes the difference.

4. A setting to enjoy at an unhurried pace

Among holm oaks, pines and dehesa landscape, RACE offers a sense of calm that invites you to switch off. Mature vegetation and rolling terrain give the course character and accompany the player throughout the round.

A course for looking up between shots and enjoying what surrounds each hole.

5. Why do we recommend it?

For its classic design, the variety of its holes and its dehesa setting among holm oaks and pines. RACE combines the appeal of a course with history with a round that invites you to come back and play it differently.

Our recommendation: enjoy the scenery, play smart and remember that a few metres shorter can leave you a much better shot.
